I doubt that you are not on any affiliation's side nor are you completely non political, Shawn!

But, you have the right to respond in kind and I believe I speak for everyone when I say that we (at least those whom you mentioned) welcome* it......

*term I have used many times on my blog and is popular among those who believe in diversity of opinion, back and forth points of view and discussion; be it testy at times or not.

Thank you for responding. GO SOX!

Hey, curiously, what are your thoughts on the Manny trade????

"A chilling thought"

Yet another needless political dig in a topic that had absolutely nothing to do with politics. Big surprise.

Can't "you people"* just shut up and discuss something other than your left-or right- winged agendas? Cripes, it's like Bunker (and most of the others here - on both sides of the coin) simply HAVE to get the last word in... for no reason other than to satisfy their perverted sense of self-righteousness - that their position is correct and should be heard, no matter what anyone else says.

For the record, I am decidedly not on any one affiliation's "side".

* term used since that seems to be popular around here @ BlogsNH

That is right during the time of the DNC in Denver. You must be going there to contribute to their platform.

A chilling thought!

Here's the website for King Richard's http://kingrichardsfaire.net/ I've never attended, and won't be able to this year, but this looks like it could be a fun event for next year. Thanks for the input, Bill.

Been There Befvore

Yes Michael,

I have been there before. I just surfed back there and they call themselves an Irish "roots" music store. I can listen to that a bit but prefer more contemporary material.

Thanks for the link and for the Icon Festival information. I am sure many NH residents would find the proximity of that event enticing and would want to attend!

The other festival, which is medieval, but unrelated and still fun is King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA. There are musical acts performing period pieces and lots of fun events. I have not been in quite a few years but it is a good trip and fun thing to do every few years.

It would be a nice distraction from current events!

Thanks, Bill, for sharing

Thanks, Bill, for sharing some of your musical interests. I enjoyed Blue Dew the best as I have been a Celtic Music fan for some time. Kilkelly has been one of favorite Irish songs. I also like Al Stewart and will look forward to checking out his new CD next month.

There is an Irish Festival in Sept. where you would hear some of the very best Irish bands around. Here is a link: http://www.iconsfestival.com/ I got my tickets last week. There is a company in Loudon which specializes in Celtic Music, especially Irish music: http://www.ossianusa.com/

If it weren't for my gardens and flowers, my children would probably be dead....or at the very least think their mother was some crazed beast. To me there is nothing more calming then a plot full of weeds that need pulling. The poopy smell of this hobby is actually a bit exhilarating.

On your vegatable garden success. This is also my first banner year (perhaps it is because of the rain) - for my own Strawberries, Blueberries, Peppers, tomatoes and squash and even corn.

You know something has changed in you when you're darn right excited about your own monster zuchinni. Good luck!

Nothing like eating supper and saying - "wow, we grew this.." and of course helps save the shekels in these tough economic times.

I too have a 13 mile commute. It's from Bradford to New London and was able to do it a few times last summer on my bike. Have to allow an hour and not mind getting to work all sweaty, but neither of those things are problems really. Each time we do that whole commute we save $3 of our money and how many pounds of carbon? Should try to compute that I guess. Hills are part of the deal here in the granite state. It's not really the hills so much as it's the gravity.

Good for you! I keep thinking I should ride a bike to and from work (about 8 miles each way), but I come up with a different excuse every day. In reality, I am just too reliant ont he convenience of having my car close by....
