Great Post Terry

I believe the world has turned upside down. I too pray that many of the pundits are right, he will govern from the center, he will be strong against our nations enemies, he will bring the right people to work on solutions to our economic woes. I fear that what this election proved is that as a people we are easily distracted from reality.

Our nation is still at war. We have enemies waiting to exploit our weaknesses. Bush will be gone very soon and there are a large number of people who believe the new president will solve every problem. What happens when he can't deliver? Does anyone out there truly think he has the answers to fix the current economic mess? Do we truly think that the Jihadists will simply leave us alone once Obama is president? What magic wand will be waved to fix social security and Medicare?

Grown ups failed to show up for the last election. Hope...change, those are clever words for a political opportunist. I'm not Bush, vote for me! Perhaps we can all take solace in the fact that in a scant 1520 days we can have a do over!

As always, I enjoy your point of view and how you express yourself.

It's remarkable how the man is being compared to FDR and Lincoln. Some are trying to create a national holiday bearing his name. And he has not served one day as our leader.

I pray. I rant. I bite my tongue.

I just hope it is not a case of "the more things change, the more they stay the same."

Great points as always, Terri. I admire your wise insight.

I've heard it all in the last few days. The clincher was "I'm so happy, now I'll be able to keep a roof over my head!" OK.... How do you figure that?

Yes, The One will supply you with housing. I am greatly relieved by this.

My worst fear is the feeling that Darwin was wrong.

One of Us?

One young man had a microphone shoved in his face the day after the elections. The question to this young African-American was how he felt having an African-American win the election. The reply would be laughable except I was distracted by the shiver running down my spine. He said he didn't vote for Obama because of his ethnicity, he voted for him because of his "experience". I wanted to scream at the TV, "what experience!" I thought the whole point was his lack of experience, that his naive, rosy colored view of the world and not being "one of them" was why he had been dubbed "The Annointed One" and the perfect candidate to bring change to the White House, if not the World. So what the heck was this guy talking about? Was he this ignorant when he stepped into the voting booth? His ignorant answer was almost as pathetic as the idiot in Vermont who shot several rounds out his window with his gun to celebrate the same man who would be more than happy to take away that gun (although, I'd be just as happy to help him in this particular case).
