Majority

Well Michael, I am sure that you believe that a majority of Americans take the MoveOn.org propaganda and swallow it like candy but the funny thing is that you represent about 18% of all Americans which belong to the far Left. Another 29.5% of the population is Left leaning. That adds up to about 47.5% that would possibly feel your way.

Now there has been a concerted, consistent and insidious drumbeat from the Left to inflame all of these issues and make them into something that is not quite what they really are. Habeas Corpus refers to Guantanamo, not Warner, NH where you live.

No one is wiretapping you, Michael and the twin towers were not downed by dynamite. Those talking points come from a frustrated group of extremists who deviously work for a victory in the next election through any means, even fear mongering.

That is the problem with the Left...everything is "relevant" which is an excuse to claim victory of opinion every time.

45.5%, Michael, is not a "majority" of Americans. Polls don't lie, liars and partisans poll. Don't believe the polls, it depends on how the questions are asked.

"We have nothing to fear...but fear itself"...FDR

Michael, it sounds like you are saying that we have progressives to fear...it also sounds like a payback for winning the marbles scenario.

How do we know fire burns...

Michael... touching the toaster or placing your hand to close to a flame teaches a lesson. Unheeded that simple life experience could lead you to suffer a serious injury.

At a young age we learn not to touch hot things. From time to time we forget that experience, but the flame always reminds us of the consequences.

As Bill so poignantly reminded us forgetting the lesson of September 11, 2001 could be more than painful, it could be fatal.

You've hit the nail on its head, Bill, once again. These are the things you really need to fear: Now the Left fears Bush and sells fear of their habeas corpus rights being violated, elections being stolen, man made global warming, organized religion, Wal-mart, Rite -Aid or any other big box store, wiretapping (although who could listen to all that propaganda), war for freedom, twin towers inside job theories, star wars defense, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, etc.

AND I and the majority of Americans do!!!!!

Humorous

Let's see, we should probably not fear child molesters, murderers, rapists, etc. right Michael? We should not fear terrorists who have told us to our faces that they want to harm us, right Michael?

Now the Left fears Bush and sells fear of their habeas corpus rights being violated, elections being stolen, man made global warming, organized religion, Wal-mart, Rite -Aid or any other big box store, wiretapping (although who could listen to all that propaganda), war for freedom, twin towers inside job theories, star wars defense, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, etc.

Most of those fears are without firm factual grounding, only paranoia and emotional reaction. I rest my case about who needs help!

Thanks for your support Judy!!!!!

Michael,

We're not paranoid at all.. just stating inevitable truths. I guess for some of us, it's much easier to live in denial. I have friends who live by it. If I pretend it won't happen , it won't. Good luck with that.

Nicely Put

Scott,

Nicely put but so many have forgotten and moved on thinking there is not threat.

Most of the 18 year olds were only 11 or 12 then and never lived through that. They fall prey to the propaganda being spread about how we deserved it, how it was an inside job and how it only represents a small fraction of the Muslim population.

We know that 69% of the Muslim population sympathizes with these terrorists but that does not matter. The youth today think that you can negotiate with anyone.

I am sure in your line of work you know that it is not so easy to find compromise through negotiation.

Thanks for your response and heartfelt remembrance of that day!

Absolutely

Yes, you are correct and if we are attach after Bush leaves office, there will be those that will blame him for making them angry, the world a less safe place, etc.

That is all they have is innuendo and rhetoric. If you say something enough, people start to believe it...at least the naive ones do!

I urge those who think that terrorists will live in peace to go over the the Middle East and make nice.

Americans have become lazy because they listen to the spinners in the press. The press is in the back pocket of the Left. Even though FOX leans a bit to the RIGHT that is all we have for an alternative view besides 60% of talk radio.

Thanks for your response.

We All Need to Remember

Many of us Americans aren't grasping the fact that freedom is not free. Our need for instant gratification is a growing problem in our society. We are living in an age where our biased media would have us cut and run, and does not want to see us succeed in defeating terrorism by Islamic radicals. It's the same with the Hollywood left. There is barely reporting of improving situations in Iraq, only the negative. The negative sells.

If there was peace everywhere and we became a country of appeasers, the terrorists will live in peace with us. Hopeful, but it's a bunch of bunk and we know it.

We'll never know what Saddam Hussein might have done with his continued reign of terror, because we removed him from it. You can take it to the bank though, that it would not have been pretty. Americans have become much too complacent overall and have long forgottten the terrible lessons of 09-11-01.

We want the war in Iraq ended now, and the world to be a peaceful and rosy place, so we can go back to sippin' our lattes. When we get hit again on home soil, these folks will be yelling the loudest, "Why wasn't something done"?

9/11/01

I was entering the Dunkin Doughnut's in Nashua, looking to pick up a quick coffee before returning to work in Manchester. I had been stood up for a sales call and thought a nice hot coffee would make the ride a little more tolerable. As I entered the building a man passed me, tears streaming from his eyes, I barely made out his shocked and emotion laden words about an attack.

Immediately my eyes were drawn to the television mounted above the register. The film loop that none of us could possibly forget. I quickly decided against the coffee and sped back to my work in Manchester at a well known news and talk radio station.

We immediately transformed from account managers trying to make a daily quota of sales into news researchers watching multiple television reports and then quickly reporting every detail we could to our stunned listeners all over New Hampshire. I remember anguished reports from people on the scene telling heart wrenching tales of tragedy and heroism.

I remember worrying about my Mom who was supposed to be flying that day. I recall trying to reach my father to find out where she was. She had flown down the day before and was fine. As I learned later, she was in Washington in a hotel room, crying about the reports. She was so shaken by the day's events she would not fly home and my father had to take the train down to get her. On the way home they could see the smoke as they passed through New York City.

Finally at 7:00 PM I finally went home and hugged my family until the strength left my arms and sleep stole my horror. It was hard to find anyone who had not been related to, friends with ,or in some why touched by that horrible day.Time has dimmed the memories of many people who lived through that day.

We should all have a piece of granite...

Something To Remember

This week my travels took me to Syracuse and then finally a short flight to JFK and Pomona, New York. Fighting the traffic and hustle and bustle of heavily populated areas reminded me of just how fortunate we are to live a relatively rural existence.
