Solutions to World Problems

Solutions to World Problems Offered to US Presidential Candidates and World Leaders

With the greater urgency of US Presidential Caucuses and Elections and the Bali UN Global Warming Conference, Marie Devine, of Kansas City, Missouri reaches out by mail, email, letters to editors, and her website to inform world leaders of religion and governments that "God has solutions to problems we created by ignoring His wisdom." There are solutions to the religious conflicts as well and global warming, energy problems, pollution, health care, social security, immigration and financial security. They don't need to be forced or mandated; God's solutions only need to be lifted into view as a standard to live by. Those who follow them will see the power while the skeptics will be stuck in the same bondage and destruction. They will ultimately see the power in God's wisdom.

When the people consider the power in the simplicity of the solutions and the easier life they bring, they need to contact their presidential candidates and world leaders and tell them that "Life is easier than we are making it; and they want the guaranteed solution." Whatever candidate is willing and able to lift up that life as a standard for the nation, that is the one that will be chosen by the people. The great part is that the world will follow our lead and we will have a land that doesn't destroy it's people, it will be a land that regenerates continually into a prosperous land of true freedom and equality.

"A Better Energy Policy" is a letter in the website. that tells the major benefits in God's commanded day of no work. (Exodus 20:8-11 one of the "Ten Commandments"). It is an immediate reduction of about one seventh of our pollution, global warming emissions, and energy us. It cuts stress which brings better health and family relationships. It is free, fair, immediate and easy to implement. The solution was sent to world leaders in 2005. With wars and rumors of wars and global warming fears, perhaps the people will demand it now.

The same day of no work stated in the Ten Commandments the first step; but there is a greater, more effective way to solve world problems that we created. We must remember that the goal of life is not employment, it is retirement. Heading toward a retirement lifestyle with landscaping full of edible fruits, nuts and berries and gardens of vegetables and vines for more fruits and vegetables produces an abundant life with freedom and equality. Add the useful pets and you have milk and eggs for marvelous foods that even rich people desire.

God promised us a garden paradise; now with global warming and pollution destroying us with no other end in site, we know we don't really have any other choice. Slowing down global warming and pollution is not a solution; it is a delay and a gamble that keeps us tied to repairing city systems and buildings that will continue to keep us in bondages.

God does have solutions to problems we created by ignoring His wisdom. In Leviticus 26 He promises "rain in due season" to followers and He outlines four times seven curses that will come upon us if we refuse His guidance. (Rain in due season restores life to desolate places.and desperate people in many areas of the world.) The word of God says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12, 16:25. God's laws are our protection, and our ways are not. God has solved the conflicts in religions; they also are easy solutions, all religions expect to come to God's truth, united in peace. The garden lifestyle is part of that. Gardens are the promise of God to those who chose His ways.

The garden solution is engraved on the United Nations building in New York City and was promised by God in Isaiah 2:4, "They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." The same prosperity is available for all nations so there is no need for war. This is available when we want it, and not before.

The Internet, blogs, news, chat rooms and just conversations in general are a mighty tool to transform our world. The website is www.divine-way.com and my email is marie-devine@divine-way.com for serious questions. Promote this solution; this is a united campaign. One voice is not enough.. Contact your representatives to fight for this or against it; it is your world. See if your favorite candidate is willing to lead the transformation of our land into green, green, green, and beautiful, landscapes of fresh foods for health bodies.

Marie Devine

birflewover,
It is your

birflewover,

It is your decision to respond here and your responses illustrate that debate and discourse are not possible with someone on the Left. They are right in every thought and they know best what is good for everyone. That is dictatorial and your brand of Socailism would be a disaster

There comes a point when you realize that someone is so brainwashed that you can not get through to their tiny mind, just read what you wrote, every statement you made is so obviously false to anyone with an IQ above average that to respond is a waste of time.

Gee, mine is 140...not that IQ means anything in the real world. Who is brainwashed. I listen to Air America, watch FSTV, read leftist books and listen to people like you in an attempt to find middle ground. All that I receive in return is this: "I know what is right" attitude and "you are irrelevant" speech from liberals and progressive. Why? Because they do not take the same time to listen to and read the other side. That is similar to a child who wants what they want and are going to scream and cry until they get it.

I'm sure Romney and Guiliani are thanking their master, Satan, everyday there are chumps like you who will vote for them. I was hoping for some intellectual ping pong looks like I'm not going to get it with you on this post anyway

So you believe there is a SATAN? But I thought that you educated and enlightened 'progressives' did not believe in GOD?

Intellectual 'ping pong' can only exist if you are aware of both sides of the debate and are open minded enough to give on even the most basic points to find consensus. The only thing you are interested in is regurgitating the talking points of the far Left.

Good luck in your pursuit of convincing anyone that your points are valid. I have done my homework and I read and listen to both sides. Just because I fail to agree or see a point on the other side does not speak to my I.Q., it speaks to the fact that I don't see the point as realistic or valid.

Not a "chump" a "champ" of freedom and self determination. I know that drives you on the Left crazy who want a nanny state and some utopian society. Good Luck!!!

You would share everything that you made and pay way more in a Socialist society.

The middle class in Europe live in old and cramped spaces and they are LAZY. Sure you might make $25/hour in a gift shop but they have no motivation to better their lives.

I agree on having too many nukes but...

"If we give up our deterrent weapons; only our enemies will have weapons and they will use them against us".

Under Carter the country started to go "RED" not "GREEN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank GOD for Ronald Reagan and Jimmah Cartah can not go away fast enough!!!!!!

Thank You Chancy55

Thank You Chancy...it is appreciated that someone supports a reasoned and rational position.

Unfortunately, the Boston and now the Concord area has been flooded by self important progressives who think they know what is better for everyone. If you read the letter writers in the Monitor, they are Socialists and strangely enough they are educated. That all speaks to the indoctrination that happens in our colleges and universities.

Your points are right on and I agree...Carter was a DISASTER.

Socialists do start with the military but they also take over social issues in schools, pit parent against child (parental notification) and trash religion, demonizing it and referring to it as myth and fairy tales. Socialists break down institutions to establish their own that fit their agenda.

Thanks for the support on this blog.

Chancy55

Chancy55, I assume you are still in the military, correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't you rather have a military that spends more on your benefits and less on killing machines, we have some 10000 nuclear warheads supposedly getting the parts they need, (I hope) isn't that enough deterrent to any enemy we may face in the World?

Our half trillion dollar per year military could not stop Bin Laden (actually I still think it could have but Cheney made sure that didn't happen...Google "loose change" "zeitgeist" and similar and you'll understand why)...anyway if a half trillion dollar a year military can not stop a huge terrorist attack in our own country, aren't we throwing our money away? Do you think spending anymore will improve our security? Do you want to spend this country into bankruptcy?

If this were a socialist or progressive country you would probably be making more money and I would be paying fewer "hidden" taxes and my children and grandchildren would not be starting out in life with a 30K to 40K debt imposed on them because of these wars for oil. We will probably be both out our retirement benefits because of the cost of these wars because sooner or later we are going to have to pay.

Don't confuse socialism with communism like , Bill, socialism is what they have in Europe and Japan and it works, their middle class is much better off than ours, I know I go there all the time and see it with my own eyes, sure their militaries are weaker than ours they think 700 nukes is enough, they don't see the need for 10000, yet who is right and who is wrong? They would like to see nobody have nukes, only the U.S., not Russia not China, has been against that, only the U.S.

This country started going Green under Carter think where we would be now if he had been elected twice, instead of Reagan!!!

Socialism is not Communism, Chancy55, you shouldn't be so afraid of it, that's "Republican think" messing with your mind.

Socialism

I always love it when a Socialist in this country uses countries like France, Iceland, and Norway as a successful example of socialism. The entire country of Norway and Iceland is three or four times smaller than New York City alone. Neither of those countries have the ability to defend themselves. (Though, what would anyone want with either of them) They spend close to nothing on military. France at least can fight, when they want to. But, one only needs to look closely at France and see the wear and tear on the fabric of their society to see socialism really is not a sustainable method of governance.

One of the first thing a socialist administration does in this country is dismantle the military. I served in the Army when Carter was president and remember clearly not being able to get parts to fix our tanks, and ammunition for training. They are also responsible for the ineffectiveness of the intelligence community in this country.

Socialism says the government provides all. Do you really want to live in Government housing? Go up to the Heights and look at those dumps. I have a niece who lives in one and I have seen them up close. Furthermore, do you want government to run health care? The government has no program that has been successful, with the exception of Head Start.

One last point: How many pennies on the dollar are you socialist willing to pay for your socialist agenda? Ask a politician that and see them crawl away. To support socialism in a country as big as ours, I don't make enough money, and neither do the socialist in this country.

Are you a free thinker Bill?

Noam Chomsky is a doctrinaire thinker...not a genius but protected in his position by academia,

What is a doctrinaire thinker? Can you define this Bill? Chomsky has written hundreds of books many of which are required reading at the World's top universities in courses on politics and government, Amy Goodman was a student of his at Harvard so was Kennedy so were a lot of other people who went to Harvard, MIT and Berkeley. Where did you go to school Bill, to critisize Chomsky so severely?

Including Soros..too bad he does not practice what he preaches

Thanks to Soros many ex-colonies of the USSR, like East Germany, Poland and the Czchek Republic are now free. What have you done for Freedom lately to critisize Soros so harshly.

Proof that the Left believes that everything is relative. If everything is than humans can be held to standards and morals set by those who dictate narrow agenda.

The left believes in equal opportunity and justice for all, a strong middle class, unions, workers rights and safe working conditions, good health care for all, peace, prosperity for all not just for the rich and powerful, strong dollar and economy, budget surplus instead of huge debts to Saudi Arabia, Japan and China...in short the left believes in the good life for as many people as possible whether your gay, black, jew, mexican or white...not so complicated ...what's so wrong about that?

Orwell was an author...nothing more, nothing less.

He was a visionary and a great writer who made difficult to understand abstract concepts accessible to all.

I agree with that one...but...it is a war on terror.

Who really started this war on terror Bill? Why have none of the hundreds of video tapes been released showing what hit the Pentagon? Why weren't the black boxes found of the planes that hit the towers, yet paper passports found in the rubble miraculously left intact identifying the terrorists? Why do the buildings coming down look so much like demolitions? Why did the owner of the WTC buildings, Silverstein, (who made billions thanks to the attack from insurance claims) say "pull it" a demolition term, (he was caught saying this on video), for WTC building 7, the command center for Guiliani, that just happened to contain all the legal dossiers concerning thousands of investigations into corporate corruption by the justice department that conveniently disappeared into ashes once bldg 7 was "pulled"? Who really started this war on terror Bill? Who benefitted? I'll tell you who benefitted the oil companies and military contractors that's who.

Democracy Now!, FSTV are not NEWS!!! It is opinion twisted as fact to get an emotional response.

I challenge any reader of these blogs to watch Democracy Now everyday for one week, which gives both news and analysis (you can watch it on the internet just Google Democracy Now) and compare it to the News and analysis of FOX. Compare the two, decide for yourselves which is real news and which is propaganda. Do the same for NBC, ABC, CBS, BBC even Al Jazeera, later on decide for yourselves then reply to Bill and myself to let us know what you think on this blog?

The difference between you and I, Bill, is that I know I'm brainwashed, I look out for it everyday, and I teach my children to guard themselves from the brainwashing of corporate advertizing and corporate television, to think for themselves, to never think that anyone hold the keys to absolute truth. Those poor children...where is your practice of free thought and choice?

My children are doing just fine, Bill, getting top grades in school, they're healthy happy and well balanced, the oldest was accepted to all the top universities last year and picked Berkeley. I think someone did a study once on the academic succes of children of liberal parents vs conservative and you'd be surprised at the results: compare the Clinton girl to the Bush girls, which one among them do you consider the most stable and the best educated?

There is no freedom involved in propaganda that is Democracy NOW! Katie Couric is not a journalist, she is a talk show host who is har LEFT! Tell Amy to give some of that back....she is over your $100, 000 limit!

For me Amy Goodman is worth far more than 200K per year, she merits more than all the other new broadcasters put together, yet she makes far less then the most poorly paid among them, she's a Harvard grad, Bill, she could make what she wants, yet she puts service to her country ahead of personal wealth. How many people cas say that?

Brought up to believe that and then allowed yourself to be brainwashed by academia

At least I admit I'm brainwashed to some extent, at least I'm aware of it and watch out for it, you Bill I guess are one of those who think they have the answer to everything.

AHA! Tazering of peace activists...like the WTC protestors, who are into violence...not a pretty thing for a peach activist. BTW-Pelosi knew about waterboarding and today it was revealed that she asked if it was strong enough of a tactic.

If Pelosi really thinks waterboarding is acceptable (which I find impossible to believe) yet if proven true, then I hope Cindy Sheehan defeats her in the next election.

Anyone with free thought has...free thought...what is the paranoia....what is your worry.

Put simply we think as we speak/write/calculate, our thought is determined by our language, which includes all languages including mathematics and music and computer programming etc., this may be too abstract for you to understand perhaps but if you want to understand better read Chomsky's linguistics works. Put even more simply a free thinker does not think that WAR=PEACE, war is war, peace is peace, War in essence is government sponsored terrorism. Whether you bomb innocent civilians children with an IED, a brainwashed suicide bomber or a F16 or a blackhawk helicopter or landmine or Bradley fighting vehicle, or Blackwater mercenary, it is all the same terrorism, the only difference is one is sponsored by our government and paid for by our tax dollars, the other is sponsored by terrorists who hate our presence in their countries and hate our stealing what they consider is their oil.

Kucinich is a mamby pamby Socialist....nothing more...nothing less....he would ruin the economy and make us far less safe in the world

You should read what you write sometimes the above looks like it was written by a 12 year old who watches television all day instead of doing her homework. Furthermore if socialism was so bad for the economy, why is Europe and Japan doing so well, why is Finland, Iceland, Norway and Denmark doing so well economically, why is Ireland doing so well. Those are all socialist countries with Universal health care, unions, low taxes for the middle class, free higher education, etc., cmon Bill grow up a little, get serious you sound like McCarthy and Nixon during the red scare and we all know how that went.

More talking points...if you keep on saying something...people might start believing.

Lazy brains yes, people no. How many times can you say 9/11 Bill? How many times can you say Al Qaida, WMD, the surge is working, etc.?

My soul is free and I write on this blog to counteract the leftist leaning of the Monitor...and the Concord progressive movement. They hate it...but it is reality.

I see nothing very left wing about the Monitor, Bill, if you want to conteract the real left wing, you should try GNN or Brasscheck TV or Information Clearing House...the Monitor seems pretty mainstream to me, even a bit right leaning actually, you know Bill true lefties are very few in this country, what you call the left most countries would call the mainstream. This country has gone so far right that simply just telling the truth and stating the facts seems to most Americans like communist propaganda that's how brainwashed our corporate television has made us as a people, that's why I think all concerned parents should severly limit the amount of television our children watch, it is really dangerous for their developing minds. Books books and more books, get your kids off the TV and on to books and they'll do great in life.

A great history book for teenagers is Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States", easy reading and an excellent History book. Zinn is a frequent guest on Democracy Now, as is Chomsky. If you can't read them check out their interviews on DN in their archives, great stuff.

Paranoia and talking points...creating fear

Yes you've nailed the neo-con agenda right smack on the head here Bill.

My soul will feel good if I do everything to protect my children's future and protest them from Leftists who are hell bent on destroying this country and controlling the debate and the future of the country by restriction. That is my mission as well as to teach them fact and reality...not fear and talking points.

Great Bill teach your kids to be intolerant of difference, that War is necessary, Global warming a myth, that torture is the American way, that self worth is determined by how much money you make, don't let them read books by Zinn and Chomsky but rather Coulter and O'Reilly and by all means keep them watching FOX to develop their moral compass...you're doing your kids a real favor Bill, they're so lucky to have a Dad like you.

Its amazing how if you play with words it plays with your mind, Noam Chomsky linguistics professor at MIT probably has a lot of fun with words mixing them up researching their origins, we think as we speak, if we human beings did not have the capacity for language we could not think at all, I have studied several languages and noticed as I started reading in different languages I started to actually view the World differently, it affected the way I think. Maybe that is why Chomsky thinks so clearly cause is life's work is words.

Noam Chomsky is a doctrinaire thinker...not a genius but protected in his position by academia,

I'm not fluent in any of the languages I studied yet I learned enough to read in them and to shake up my doctrinaire way of thinking. I realised that I was limited in my mind's capacity to think because I could think in only one language. I realised as well that mathematics was a language and that so was musicical composition. The more "languages" we learn the "larger" we think. In other words we are all brainwashed or manipulated to some extent, you, I, everyone, it can't be otherwise, that is why , as Soros says, no one holds the keys to absolute truth.

Including Soros..too bad he does not practice what he preaches

It's as clear as 1+1=2. Einstein as a kid was asked to prove that 1+1=2, he was so clever he proved mathematically that 1+1=3 (actually he cheated he divided by 0) however his teacher could not find where Einstein's proof was fallacious and just got frustrated and gave Einstein the German educational program equivalent of an F.

Proof that the Left believes that everything is relative. If everything is than humans can be held to standards and morals set by those who dictate narrow agenda.

Orwell showed in his novels and essays how human beings can be made to believe, I mean really believe that War = Peace, that Freedom = Slavery. Written large over the entrances of German Concentration camps was "Work is Freedom". Didn't Condi Rice say we need war inorder to bring peace? I mean how Orwellian is that.

Orwell was an author...nothing more, nothing less.

Did you know that more than half of the American population were brainwashed into believing before the invasion that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, not Bin Laden, but Saddam Hussein, many still believe that today, even though Bush, Cheney and their cabals have now all retracted on that one.

I agree with that one...but...it is a war on terror.

Most people today in this country refuse to believe their own eyes concerning 9/11, they would rather believe the "newspeak" coming from the corporate broadcast channels. In other words if CNN does not come out and say 9/11 was an inside job that our government was involved, then it can't be true. It's only true if CNN says its true. That is how most of us have been conditioned. If a corporate newscast does not say something is true it is not true period we have become that subserviant to the corporate media. They give us just enough truth to keep us believing the really important stuff which is not true and we eat it up day in and day out.

Democracy Now!, FSTV are not NEWS!!! It is opinion twisted as fact to get an emotional response.

When I was young, before I had children, I volunteered for humanitarian work in Africa and Central America, this had a profound affect on me cause I learned first hand the horrors of capitalism, the CIA trained and financed death squads in Guatamala to protect US corporate banana interests, I met women who had been tortured and whose husbands had been "disappeared" all in the name of protecting "capitalism" or the encroachment of "communism" upon capitalism. Regulated capitalism can be a benefit to freedom yet unregulated capitalism can destroy freedom, that is why we must contantly be on look out, have checks and balances in the system, a free press like Democracy Now to be a counterweight to the Corporate press, etc., You said Amy Goodman makes about 200K per year, seems to me a pretty low salary compared to the multi-million dollar salaries of her peers, how much do they pay that corporate mouth peice Katy Couric? Brian Williams I like better as he seems a bit more truthy than the other corporate mouth pieces yet still he won't touch the hard news like Amy Goodman.

There is no freedom involved in propaganda that is Democracy NOW! Katie Couric is not a journalist, she is a talk show host who is har LEFT! Tell Amy to give some of that back....she is over your $100, 000 limit!

I was brought up to believe like you, that capitalism was always good, it was necessary for freedom, that we had to defend it at every turn. When I saw the horrors that capitalism could impute when left unchecked and unregulated, it changed my mind on the sacred status of capitalism or more accurately "corporatism" which is the nefarious form of capitalism, i.e., capitalism unchecked unregulated.

Brought up to believe that and then allowed yourself to be brainwashed by academia

For me to agree to disagree is a cop out, I disagree to agree, because when it comes down to it, there is right and wrong and you don't need to be an Einstein to see that bombing iraqi children is wrong, that torture is wrong, that tazering peace activists is wrong,...sure we can find justifications for anything if we want, sure you can say waterboarding is necessary sometimes but you are wrong. I know in my heart this administration used torture to force signed confessions from others to cover up their wrong doing...I would bet anything that one day a guilt ridden CIA agent will come out with the truth on this sooner or later, like they have so many times in the past.

AHA! Tazering of peace activists...like the WTC protestors, who are into violence...not a pretty thing for a peach activist. BTW-Pelosi knew about waterboarding and today it was revealed that she asked if it was strong enough of a tactic.

Finally to those of us who know we are brainwashed day in and day out by the corporate television, (my children don't have a television, we don't have a television in the house...not until the youngest turns 16 anyway), the brainwashing that makes us want to buy things we don't need, or even buy things that actually do us harm, (you ever wonder why so many Americans are obese, it is the television)....Americans have stopped thinking for themselves to a great extent and let the pundits like O'Reilly and people like you, Bill, do their thinking for them.

Anyone with free thought has...free thought...what is the paranoia....what is your worry.

That is why nobody believes Kucinich can be elected, that he is unelectable, because the television pundits, and the corporations that own them, want us to believe that. Could you imagine what a Kucinich Presidency would do to the Health Insurance Industry or the War Industry. Could you imagine how a Kucinich Presidency would raise the costs of companies that dump toxic waste into our rivers and oceans, whether they be here or in China. Sure our Barbie dolls might cost more but maybe we wouldn't buy them anymore if the did. If the true costs of products we don't need were imposed maybe we'd put our money and energy into things we do need like solar and wind and hemp jeans or energy efficient washing machines which last a life time and rarely break down.

Kucinich is a mamby pamby Socialist....nothing more...nothing less....he would ruin the economy and make us far less safe in the world

For me a good test of what percentage of the people in this country are seriously brainwashed will be evident after the initial primaries...how many will vote for anyone but Ron Paul on the Republican side, cause all the others are obviously corporate fascists...and on the Democratic side it is more difficult because all the candidats are acceptable, i.e., not fascist, but Kucinich is far and away the best if you look at the voting records, stances on issues, courage and legislative experience. He's the only one who has called for Impeachment of Cheney and voted against the Invasion of Iraq from the beginning, when the rest of us were out in the streets all waving our flags like brainwashed zombies.

More talking points...if you keep on saying something...people might start believing.

It looks like they've still got you Bill where they want you, maybe you should show some resistance some rebellion and write a few blogs against the powers that want to control us, once in awhile instead of defending them all the time, you'll be surprised how it will set free your soul. Try it you may begin to like it, once you've tasted true freedom you'll never turn back, you'll understand that life is not worth living without true freedom, for you or your children.

My soul is free and I write on this blog to counteract the leftist leaning of the Monitor...and the Concord progressive movement. They hate it...but it is reality.

In the end the constant struggle for freedom is not for us but for future generations so our children will not do horrible things like throw people in concentration camps, torture, bomb children for oil, etc., instead they'll become independent, build wind farms and solar parks , electric cars, respect Habeas Corpus for all people not just those who Cheney considers a non-terrorist.

Paranoia and talking points...creating fear

I challenge you Bill to try your hand at writing something positive for humanity once in a while you may just find it makes your soul feel good.

My soul will feel good if I do everything to protect my children's future and protest them from Leftists who are hell bent on destroying this country and controlling the debate and the future of the country by restriction. That is my mission as well as to teach them fact and reality...not fear and talking points.

At The End Of The Day

At the end of the day we have two different visions of the world. I do not care for yours and you do not care for mine. I don't subscribe to the talking points of the Left and I do not think Kennedy is much more than a hypocrite. Boxer, Feinstein, etc. want the same things that you claim the Republicans want but in a different way.

Washington is infested with lawyers and lobbyists. There is not virtual difference between the parties. When seemingly intelligent people can not raise the level of debate they revert to branding those who disagree as Fascist. Well, since the beginning of this post, Fascism as defined on Left websites is a convenient definition based on their talking points and views.

Without Capitalism and corporations and economy, we would all be farmers living off of the land or artisans making beads and baubles. If we do not keep up with the rest of the world, the world will over take us. Without military strength, we would be taken over and enslaved.

Maybe your dreamscape is to have a big love fest that ends up in the people of the world joining in with peace ensuing but it is unrealistic, Not because you and I and others are not capable in this country of wanting or trying to have that. Much of the third world is uncivilized and socially retarded. They are not as enlightened as you think they are.

As much as you think the Right is our for control of everything; you side the far Left would be no different.

We should just agree to disagree as you continue to run on sentences like a person protesting on the street and shouting someone down.

I wish you luck with Kucinich but I do no believe that he has a prayer to get elected.

Thanks for your posts on this blog but I am pretty much out of comments, especially replying to run on sentences and extreme talking points. Once again, informed debate is good but your sources are biased.

You say you blog to defend freedom

You say you're here to defend freedom, Bill, but whose freedom are you defending? the people who need defending are the ones without the guns, clubs, teargas, tazers and money. The poor, the gays, the immigrants, the American born children of Islamic faith, the children in Iraq who no longer have homes or parents or legs or eyes, the young male and female soldiers who believed the lies of Cheney and Bush and come back in flag drapped coffins or without legs or eyes or sanity, the victims of Katrina, or predatory banks that loan to those who can't understand the contracts they sign, which includes about everyone cause the contracts are often impossible to understand, the same goes for health insurance , the victims of CIA trained death squads in Colombia, Sudan and Congo, the victims of military contractors like Blackwater??? Whose freedom are you defending Bill , when I read you posts it seems you defend the rich, the corporations, the oil companies, the contractors, it seems to me you promote nationalism which waters the seeds of fascism.

People like Michael above seem to be defending freedom, Bill, not you, his points on the dangers of fascism taking a grip on our country remind me of essays of our founding fathers, remind me of Jefferson, Paine, Franklin, Martin Luther King, Debbs, Father Berigan, George Soros, Gandhi and thousands of others.

You seem to want to defend the freedom of those who do not need defending, the oppressors, isn't it the job of freedom fighters to keep the oppressors honest, in check?

I personally don't like to back up my comments with sources, people can judge for themselves if what I say is BS or not, sources and statistics can be easily found to back up any argument you want. I shoot from the hip and say what I want, what I think, not what other people think, if you think I repeat left wing talking point so be it, it just means they're people who think like I do, great that gives me confidence that I'm on the right path.

You seem to repeat right wing talking points from what I read of you and the sources you use to back them up, I wouldn't trust .

We can agree to disagree but that means one of us is wrong. Just because something is said by a Reagan or Kennedy or Jefferson or Bush doesn't make it right or wrong, we are all human, like Soros says, no one has the keys to absolute truth we are all fallable. Soros is an extremely wise man who has devoted his life to defending freedom, you were probably on his side when he critisized the USSR now that he critisizes America you get all upset but in both cases he's fighting for freedom.

People who really love their country critisize it when it needs critisizing, blind allegiance to country can be dangerous, imagine if you were a citizen of Nazi Germany when Hitler was at the height of power, the so called "good german" patriotic to the core, aren't Americans who blindly support Bush and Cheney the same as Germans who blindly supported Hitler? I see no difference. Torture , concentration camps, Abu Graib Guantanamo, domestic spying, signing statements and dare I say it maybe even 9/11?? Those towers sure came down fast in my opinion.

I don't claim to be right , I just say what I think that's all, I respect others enough to judge for themselves if what I say agrees with them or not.

What I like about the internet and blogs is that I find that more and more people think like I do and less like you do, when in 2003 I thought I was virtually alone, now I see we are hundreds of millions on the so called "left", there are many more liberals or progressives or socialists or whatever label you want to put on us than you think.

The bottom line is, Bill, whether you like it or not, if you're a student of history, that freedom has always been defended by the "left" all throughout history and in every single country in the World. The left defends freedom today in Burma, in China, in Europe, in Russia, in the past it protested nazi Germany (the resistance was made up of socialists), in the USSR (Stalin was far right so was Hitler), in Venezuela, in Africa, in Australia....and above all in this country...its the Boxers, Feingolds, Kucinichs, the code pinks and ACLUs, the treehuggers and animal rights activists, the Gores and Kennedies, the Martin Luther Kings and the Unions, the Sean Penns and Robert Redfords...and most of all the millions of people who march in the streets every time our liberties are threatened who give the leaders the support they need to continue fighting for freedom. Freedom has always come from the left, our founding fathers were called terrorists by King George and the Banks of England. Our Constitution a terrorist document (I'm sure Bush and Cheney still believe that). We are a country of laws not men as Edward Kennedy recently reminded us, yet men make the laws so it is important we elect the right men who make the laws.

That's why I'm voting Kucinich I know he's someone we can trust and count on to do what is right, who are you voting for in the primaries Bill??? That would reveal a lot about who you really are.

You Make My Point birdflewover

birdflewover,

You make my point. When the other point of view can't use facts to prove their point and decide that others are not going to agree they devolve into name calling. Is that not the same as 'hate' speech.

Here are some examples of hate speech:

Calling others who do not agree with you "Fascist"...a tactic Hitler used with other groups than his own

Calling people who do not agree with you, "white trash"...obviously they are not as enlightened as you or some of the Harvard egghead types that you adore

Calling people 'red necks'...a devolution into hate for people from the South and it sounds a bit elitist.

Blaming the KKK...which is a barely existent entity with no organization but by speaking its name stirs up emotions and fear

You say that those of us who you casually classify as "fascist" and "communist" want everyone to be the same. Is that not what you are trying to do in your diatribe.

I do not know your education but you were certainly not a history major. By the way the Huffington Post is not a legitimate news source, it is partisan and doctrinaire.

Thank you for your posts here but your name calling and decision to avoid factual debate by mindlessly repeating talking points without sources or backup as I have asked you to do.....does nothing for discussion and quite frankly is a hypocritical revelation of what some of the dogma that you espouse, if accepted by a majority would mean to this country. Most of which would be as insidious as the society, that in your paranoia, you think exists in this country today.

Fly away....birdflewover.....fly away!!!!!!

Great list Michael I totally agree

Excellent response to Bill, Michael, your list was well thought out.

After reading Bill Bunker's replies, it is obvious that Bill is not interested in the truth but in promoting fascism or nazism, he reaches and stretches to find anything he can to counteract the obvious, yet he fails miserably.

It seems to me there are a lot of fascists in this country, people who really want to give up their liberty, my guess is people who have sad lives want everyone else to have sad lives too, so they want to take our liberties away so we can all have sad lives together, like them.

Fascists and Communists are pretty much the same thing in my book, both want everyone to be the same, both are strongly supported by the non-immigrant or white poor or as we call them in this country the white trash or red necks or KKK types who have radically transformed the Republican party into their party where only a few real conservatives like Ron Paul remain.

Bill from his stretched comments in reply to your list seems to embrace fascism which means to me, he probably would be ok with communism too (though he says he's against communism and fascism), because in essence they are the same, i.e., political systems to make everyone look and behave in the same way. Total control, no freedom, communism like fascism can both be democratic, and if people actually vote for tyranny, is it still tyranny? I mean the German people voted for Hitler, sort of, just like Americans voted for Bush, sort of, at least the fraud in both cases was not strongly contested, so more or less legitimate and thus democratic in both cases.

I would say that all those who voted for Bush voted for tyranny, especially the second time around when it was absolutely clear that he and Darth Vader were tyrants. This is what really scares me in this country that so many people deliberately vote for tyranny. I can understand why a corporate executive of a company like Blackwater, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Tyson, Dow Chemical and similar would vote tyranny, or Republican, I can understand why sad racists types in the KKK and minutemen and similar would vote Republican but I can't see why so many other, so called reasonable people, vote Republican???...is it just that they are so afraid of peace and love hippie types, Hollywood liberal types or giving their tax dollars to the disadvantaged, that they'd rather have tyranny???

Sean Penn , who Bill thinks is stupid, a communist, etc., (who by the way is very popular among our soldiers, believe it or not), wrote a very good essay on the Huffington Post recently, I think you should check it out. He is apparently giving his support to Kucinich and gives really good arguments on why we should all do the same. I think you should check it out.

Final Answer

I was talking only about the scores in Mathematics and Language, for Americans that was English. In both Mathematics and Language we were at the bottom, they took students from all segments of society at the highschool level. OEDC has nothing to do with the UN, it comprises only the most economically developed countries in the World.

I don't want to move to Canada I want to copy their education program because it works better than ours why are you against that? Mathematics is mathematics it is not left or right. If you're against ideology in schools then you must be against no child left behind and the abstinance sexual education programs I assume.

Absolutely, no sexual education, no politically correct crap either, pay the teachers who perform well and get rid of the deadwood. NO TENURE...all performance based rating of the quality of teaching. Discipline in school....a dress code (exists in Canada)...they are there to learn, not make a statement.

Unions shield poor performing teachers. Stop mainstreaming....it is not about self esteem that cheats the gifted and plays to the challenged. Grade levels. You want to fix it....that is how to do it. And No More: HEATHER HAS TWO MOMMIES...that is up to the parents to teach if they desire.

I can you have the arrogance to say those countries are morally vacant, when we torture, waterboard, support vicious perverts in Saudi Arabia who whip women after they been raped, who let Blackwater hired guns (the new brownshirts) walk free after they raped and shot a 14 year old girl, this after they shot her parents right before her eyes, who hold tens of thousands of innocent people in prison for years cause we haven't had the time to interrogate them yet. I could go into many more examples of our ghastly behavior, but it makes me sick to even think about what we Americans are doing, and you think we are morally above others? We need to take care of our own immorality here at home before we can critisize others. As for Cuba they just put innocent dissidents in prison they don't torture and they don't have private armies that rape young girls then shoot them.

Propaganda...even the latest war atrocity propaganda movies are failing at the box office...people don't buy it.

You call Hollywood gutter slime but you don't explain why? Google is free to the consumer how is that gouging them? Gouges people who advertise. Apple Microsoft expensive? Higher priced than PC's and they fix the price of all of their goods.Have you looked at your annual gasoline bill or energy bill recently or food bill? All are high because we need to drill and refine oil here, taking a portion of that to develop alternative energy. You don't have to buy an iPod you need to buy food. As for GE your facts are wrong, how do wind turbine mfrs like Nordex and Vestas from Denmark/Germany make their wind turbines (they're both bigger than GE in wind turbines) when they don't make Jet engines? You brought up GE wind power...that is how it was developed at GE.

Being fiscally conservative has always been a liberal policy, Republicans just say they're fiscally conservative, Liberals really are. Carter was one of our greatest Presidents ever do bad he did not get re-elected , we'd have a green economy, no 9/11, no wars, a super properous economy instead of a crashing dollar...

Fiscally conservative is not a person who funds multiple social programs. How can you know what Carter would have experience in history???? Where is your crystal ball. He presided over the worst economy ever since the great depression.

Socialism is workers rights, unions, safe working conditions, good inexpensive healthcare for everyone, safe food and water, clean air, mandatory paid vacation, weekends off, minimum wage, accountability for corrupt leaders and corporations which spill chemicals into our rivers and oil into our oceans and mercury into our fish. Socialism is equal rights for black, jew, arab, mexican...Socialism is torture being illegal, Habeas corpus and freedom for all people not just the corporations. I see nothing wrong with all that. Socialism is what we want it to be, we decide, that is what social democracy is all about, if we want only 2 weeks paid vacation fine, if we want 5 that's fine too, if we want 20 maybe that's too much, won't work, the point is we decide, because we are free, socialisn is freedom. Cuba is not socialist it is communist it has a dictator, you keep confusing socialism with communism, socialism embraces differences, gays, same sex marriage, rock music, punk music, the US is already a socialist democracy, yet was heading towards fascism under the Republicans, France and Holland are even more socialist i.e., even more free than we , because in Holland one can smoke pot legally if you're over 21 and in France they excellent universal health care paid for by a tax on cigarettes and oil, the people pay virtually nothing for their health care, though they probably gripe about the gas price and cigarette price. We don't have to copy them exactly but my point is socialism is freedom, we decide, you keep confusing it with communism which wants everyone to be the same, no gays, every one have the same income level, no jealosy of those who have more than you or who are different than you. Some people perhaps on the extreme left would prefer communism just like some people on the extreme right prefer fascism , most moderate sane reasonable people prefer socialism, only with socialism do you have free education, good health care for the kids, etc. Corporations prefer fascism, because it is more profitable, poor people want communism so they won't feel poor anymore, I personally want socialism or freedom from being poor as well as freedom from being exploited by corporations, polluting my air and rivers, turning my food into franken foods, etc.

SOCIALISM as defined in every book that I have read evens out ownership of everything. It stands for little of what you mention above. No one is against half of what you write above but Socialism is not the answer.

All of the above could have been quoted off of FSTV and Democracy NOW!

What do you mean by that?

Every statement is worded exactly like the diatribe on FSTV and Democracy NOw!, it sounds robotic

What I suggest is we continue what your beloved Reagan wanted to do with Gorbochev and massively reduce nuclear arms, Reagan after the cold war , wanted to do at least one thing positive for America and the World, and massively reduce eventually eliminating all together after 10 years all nuclear weapons. Bush Cheney Rumsfeld Wolfowitz, Israel etc quickly put an end to that kind of thinking, that was probably the worst think Bush daddy did was go against Reagan here. Russia, France, China, UK they were all willing to go along, but Israel was really against this.

WOW! That is enlightened with Reagan. If America disarms...only our detractors and enemies will have arms.

Humble is fine but the Left cowers. Cuba does not have a better health care system. They service fewer people and performed a dog and pony show for Michael Moores film. Would you want to live like them in poverty in shacks and slums. Is health care that breaks the bank worth destroying our economy for something that the government will run into the ground.

It is the embargo that is breaking the Cuban economy not Health care, health care actually stimulates the economy in Cuba they send doctors to Venezuela , and Chavez in return gives them petrol dollars. However the embargo has strangled Cuba over the last 30 years because the US will not allows ships from China, Russia, Europe or anywhere else dock in the US if they make a stop in Cuba, so it is economically unfeasable for anyone to go to Cuba because they can't get return loads for their container ships. In CIA recently released unclassified documents from 1959 explicitly stating that the only way they could get rid of Castro (because he was so popular) was to starve the cuban people and push them to revolt, this the UN condemned as a genocidal policy by the US, again great for our reputation in the world. The real threat of Cuba was that without embargo Castro could have made the economy work and shown the world that communism works, yet he never got that chance thanks to the CIA, thousands died of starvation in Cuba because of the embargo, and they have no way to buy the material necessary to rebuild their infrastructure etc., and the CIA plan has worked quite well actually as people are really fed up with being poor and will probably one day welcome US corporate domination of their country once again. Personally I believe if we had lifted the sanctions on Cuba, Cuba would have prospered and Castro would have moved slowly towards socialism and away from communism like in Europe, furthermore had the embargo never existed Castro would have been out of power long ago cause the wealthy middle class in Cuba would have pushed him out.

Communism HAS NEVER WORKED!!! You say that you want free will, etc. and then make statements that glorify Castro...a murderer and dictator. Cuba is also crime ridden. You drank the Kool-Aid on Cuba and it's health care.

I would only trade things away if the defense shield is built, ports strengthened and borders sealed.

You shouldn't be so afraid , America is the most dangerous force on the planet today the whole world is terrified of America, just like the whole world was terrified of the Nazis when they were at the height of their power. We keep pushing in this direction and the same thing will happen to us as did the Nazis and our grandchildren will grow up being hated by the rest of the world.

We may have the strongest military but I trust our soldiers and Americans. Third world rulers are untrustworthy as they are not as socially sophisticated.

Your side defends Chavez and Jimmy Carter loves Catro...what are you talking about?

I think Chavez is great, though perhaps too frank talking sometimes, Jimmy Carter too his Carter center is doing great work helping the oppressed around the world, Castro though fantastic in overthrowing the dictator Batista, screwed up royal by not allowing more freedom of press and free elections in his country, I think he should have taken that risk it would have worked in his favor, yet he was so scared of the CIA bribing thousands and promising them unlimited wealth that he felt he wouldn't get fair elections, had the CIA left him alone he would had a free press and elections, he has said so many times, yet I still think he should have taken the risks anyway.

Chavez was a populist who wants to be dictator for life. He LOST!!! Now he will take over like the people he despises. He is an uneducated, punk. Carter envisions himself as some kind of prophet and he is a legend in his own mind. Castro would be better off dead and when his faily is gone Cuba will finally be free

Talking points from any left leaning site.

I don't use talking points I like to think I can think on my own.

All of your points come right out of the Far LEFT playbook

» reply

So a doctor should make the same as a janitor? Not being critical about being a janitor, everyone has a position to fill and we need as many manual workers as we do egg heads. You should scold Amy Goodman at Democracy Now!; a journalist who is pulling a great salary.

No I never said that, I think a doctor should make a good salary...yet that shouldn't be his primary motivation that's all.... I don't know how much Amy Goodman makes do you?

AMY GOODMAN $213,455

RANDI RHODES $245,675

Heard it all before on Left leaning websites as well as the American Socialist Party website...that says it all.

It doesn't seem like it by reading your essays.

You should read your own favorite websites.

Can you recall Rawanda, Bosnia, Cambodia, etc. The UN is impotent. We give them over half of their funding and they trash us...we need out of that Trojan Horse.

Again oil corporations are behind those tragedies as well, the UN is impotent when the US wants it to be and not impotent when the US supports it. Simple as that.

Because emotional weaklings here allow it to have any legitimacy at all.

I was not talking about sexuality but religion as well. To accuse Republicans as having sex slaves and wanting to stop women's right to vote is silly and insulting. More FSTV and Democracy NOW! talking points.

No just personal observation, this is what I observe, Ann Coulter thinks women should not vote she's said it publically many times. O'Reilly has said many times the code pink women should be waterboarded and I really believe he is serious. I never accused Republicans as having sex slaves, I accused Saudi princes of having child sex slaves, yet I accuse Republicans of supporting the Saudis.

As did Clinton and Hillary (receiving Saudi money for her campaign). Do you feel good about that?

Jane Fonda is a piece of excrement who caused many soldiers to be killed and mass slaughter of Southeast Asians. Do not compare Eugene V. Debbs to Jefferson, what a silly analogy. Code Pink should be Code Red, as in Communist. I do not like Coulter and I do not like Randi Rhodes...they are polar opposites on the extreme.

Jane Fonda did not kill our soldiers, she never had the power, Johnson and Nixon did, forced to do so by military corporations who wanted to drag out the war to make more money. Pol pot was nothing until Nixon gave him political power by bombing the hell out of Cambodia, turning the people who never wanted to be communist into communist.

Jane Fonda was an enabler. Communism enslaves....that is and was the evil of leaders in Asia.

The Left thinks that if say something enough, people will start to believe it. You have as testament to what you stated above.

I don't hear the left repeating 9/11 9/11 ad infinitum or WMD or Al Qaida or whatever that's the right you're confused I think on that point.

There are far more irrational arguments and made up stories on the Left like....the world trade center was a demolition job.

It is not overflowing...habeas corpus still exists here in the United States, All of the above are talking points of the Left on FSTV and Democracy Now!

No it doesn't all Cheny as to do is declare you or me a terrorist and poof your habeas corpus rights have disappeared, and your Republican senate passed that bill!! Yea I know so did a lot of Democrats, yet at least there was some protest on the Democratic side.

It sounds like a great argument but is not true.

Talking Points

Never use them I think for myself

Carbon copy of Left sites and broadcasts

Clooney is not that bright and he is an actor. Jolie is admirable. Sheen is a frustrated actor who envisions himself as the President that he played on West Wing. A former substance abuser. Shawn Penn..good actor, not the brightest bulb on the Christmas Tree.

Sean Penn appears pretty intelligent to me, Clooney too, Sheen as well don't understand where you get that????

He is hardly intelligible, Clooney is not that bright. Sheen is just a nut job. Look at how wealthy these guys are...OHHHHH they should share that with me and you......aren't they just as GREEDY! as a corporation. What value to they add to society....entertainment.....is that worth it???

And a Socialist is someone who wants government to have power over people and to set the moral tone of a society.

Again you confuse socialism with either fascism or communism, socialism is all about total uninhibited freedom, fascism and communism want to control societies and set the moral tone. Look at the socialist countries of Europe and our own country under the Democrats things were going pretty well, we felt pretty free then, under Bush and Cheney I feel a lot less free, but now that the Democrats are taking back power I feel much better, since 2006 anyway, before, my God , I was really getting scared we were really losing our freedoms.

WRONG!!!! Read the dictionary and look at history. Socialism enslaves people and controls them.

Hitler and Stalin took over utilities and oil, etc. One Fascist and one Communist. Nothing should be nationalized. I thought that you did not like nationalism??????

Both let their respective corporations run the show the profits were not distributed fairly they were kept in the hands of the few. It depends how you do it. Venezuela is a good example on how to do it right. Norway is another example. It all depends on how you do it, I'm sure Americans would find the right formula too. We did it with electric utilities for years, they were nationalized before they were privatized, we can go back and forth until we get it right.

Venezuela is a dictatorship.......who decides which ones are good??? You???? Amy Goodman????? Did you know that FSTV, Democracy NOW! are corporations????

Wealth redistribution is a tenant of SOCIALISM...Chavez was elected as was Ortega in Nicaragua...all with promises of sharing the wealth...it has not happened.

You are wrong it has, ask any Venezuelan that is why Chavez is so popular. Ortega seems very popular too, let their people decide what's best for them let's keep our CIA out of there. If their people find that one day Chavez is screwing them don't worry they will get rid of him.

That is why his initiative to become leader for life was soundly defeated??? How many Venezuelans who live there have you spoken to????

Kennedy used his wealth (the kind that you despise) to get himself out of what should have been a manslaughter charge in the 1960's. Boxer and Pelosi are just Socialists. Why Webb????? Thompson is too weak and farmerish...will never happen.

I never said the Kennedy's were perfect we are all human, however they have a strong record of doing this country a great service by their decisions and that what counts for me. We elect decision makers not priests and nuns. You keep using socialism like it was some kind of dirty word when you give no serious argument on why you are against socialism , socialism is freedom in essence, it embraces a free press, unions, diversity of culture, our country has been socialist for most of its history, with some moves to fascism that never worked if you are against socialism you are essentially against America and apparently would like to see America more fascist like, more under the control of corporations.

So you can overlook his crimes and flaws and great wealth because he believes the way that you do????

Socialism is one of the filthies words in the world. My vision of this country is to have self determination, self reliance, freedom of movement, taking care of your family first, helping those truly in need, no freeloaders, earn as much or as little as you can, have the freedom to live as you wish, own what you wish, do what you wish as long as it does not restrict the freedom of others. If I want to live in a tent or a mansion, it is no ones business and certainly not the governments.

SOCIALISM MEANS CONTROL AND SETTING THE STANDARD OF HOW EVERYONE SHOULD LIVE BY PEOPLE WHO THING THEY KNOW BEST!!!!

I also fly alot, imagine that, we are probably on the same flights sometimes....you are paranoid about the no fly lists.

I have good reason to be a lot of innocent people I know are on them, remember Cat Stevens?

You know Cat Stevens. Well, when you come out and say things like "The United States deserved 9/11" and you have converted to Islam...I think that is a pretty good reason to be on one. I see ultra progressive people boarding planes every day...I would not worry if I were you.

Well, some of your ilk does.

ilk is derogatory are you insulting me? I thought you didn't like hate mail?

OK....People who believe like you do....how is that!

I believe like George Soros (made his money, now he is a Socialist and wants POWER AND CONTROL), no one can ever claim to have the absolute truth, liberals can often be wrong too, we can only do our best, the importance is to try to do what is right for all the people American and non-American,

George Soros fought for freedom in Russia and won, now he's worried about this country becoming fascist and I agree we need to stay on our toes, if he wanted power he would run for political office or buy a corporation..apparently he doen't want power he wants to do good that's all.

You did not just drink the Kool-Aid, you overdosed on it!!!!!!!

This is how people respond when they don't know how to respond, I thought you were better than that?

It appears to me that you listen to everything you hear and read, on sites and shows that you feel meet your beliefs and interpret them as FACT. I listen to both sides and make an educated and informed decision as to what is the truth. You are doctrinaire and only believe dogma that you want to believe. That is tantamount to the evangelical religious movement that you dislike.

Ok, let's try Clinton, Murtha, Kerry and others at the same time.

Clinton I agree for crimes against humanity for the sanction on Iraq that starved half a million children, however for Murtha and Kerry as far as I know they haven't committed any war crimes or crimes against humanity or the Constitution???

Kerry lied about atrocities in Vietnam. Murtha charged soldiers in Haditha and it is now evident that they are not guilty.

birdflewover, you have obviously been influenced to a great degree by one sided propaganda on FSTV, Democracy NOW!, etc. You stand for every extreme viewpoint on the Left with no room for compromise. I feel for you and I doubt that the country will go that way. It may swing Left in this election but fortunately, politics in this country swings like a pendulum and it will soon swing the other way. Good speaking with you on this blog.

Unfortunately you may be right here, but we can dream can't we, like the John Lennon song says Imagine! Peace! Vote Kucinich!!!!

Thank God John Lennon is not around today or you would be voting for him. Lennon was must a song writer. McCartney is more of a songwriter but together they wrote the best songs. Your heroes seem to be obscure individuals or entertainers.

Whether or not the readers of this blog agree with my viewpoints or the viewpoints of others, it is critical that informed voters on both sides of the debate concerning the future course of governance of this country, search out knowledge and are aware of just how important their vote will be in 2008.
