The Monitor
New site, changes aplenty
Submitted by BlogsNH staff on May 3, 2010 - 00:30. Greater Concord | The MonitorYou've all probably noticed the new Monitor website this week.
BlogsNH has been affected by the new site. Monitor staff writers and photographers, whose work you may have noticed here before, now have spaces of their own.
Blog bookkeeping
Submitted by BlogsNH staff on February 15, 2010 - 01:30. Greater Concord | The MonitorOur list of bloggers has been condensed slightly. Over the past years, we've occasionally set up accounts for folks who ended up deciding not to blog, or who only contributed an entry or two. This makes sense. Blogging isn't for everyone, and sometimes something that seems easy and fun at first can become a daunting challenge.
Three Years of BlogsNH
Submitted by BlogsNH staff on September 2, 2009 - 00:30. Greater Concord | The MonitorWe're three years old! Okay, so we're three years and a few months old. But let's reflect a bit on where we came from and where we're going.
In May 2006, we started BlogsNH. The site began when Mark Travis (formerly the director of product development at the Monitor, now the publisher of the Valley News) asked Monitor staffer Clay McCuistion to help start a community blogging site. McCuistion had blogged on his own since 2002, so he was excited to bring that knowledge to the paper.
Your Blog, Writ Large
Submitted by BlogsNH staff on April 14, 2009 - 00:30. Greater Concord | The MonitorOver the past three years, we've worked at highlighting the contributions of our bloggers in various ways. We have feeds at concordmonitor.com, showing the latest posts. We've run excerpts in print from blog posts. But we're not through yet.
Season's best
Submitted by BlogsNH staff on December 29, 2008 - 16:03. Greater Concord | The MonitorHello all, bloggers and non-bloggers alike. We just wanted to drop in and wish you all the best.
To the bloggers, thanks for your hard work throughout this past year. To our readers and commenters, thanks for contributing to the discussion. This new year will likely bring changes to blogsNH -- just as this last year brought an infusion of new bloggers from the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript -- but our commitment to community dialogue remains.

Submitted by BlogsNH staff on August 9, 2008 - 23:18. Greater Concord | The MonitorHi all. Just a note on blog comments here.
We do not ask or require that bloggers participate in comment threads. While we welcome everyone's responses, please do not make our bloggers, particularly ones who have recently started, feel unwelcome by saying they have to debate with you.
Starbucks....."Our Coffee Shop".... What?
Submitted by Bill Bunker on July 21, 2008 - 22:49. Barnstead | The MonitorMargot Sanger-Katz’s Monitor piece “Your Latte is Safe, For the Moment” was a cross between an advertisement and schoolgirl crush on Starbucks.
Just when you start to think.................................
Submitted by Bill Bunker on July 13, 2008 - 15:30. Greater Concord | The MonitorJust when you think the Monitor editorial staff has come to their senses, reality hits you like foul ball at the baseball park.
I read the latest editorial: “A day to measure the health of democracy” in the Monitor and Ray Duckler’s opinion piece masquerading as a news piece: “In public, he hears whining”.
