The Streak is Over
Last night, the ConVal boys basketball team finally ended its regular season losing streak.
The streak began during the 2007-08 season, spanned all 18 games last year and through the first three contests of 2009-10. But now it is over following a 60-46 home victory over Mascenic, guaranteeing there will not be another 0-for-season in Cougar land.
There were many times during the losing streak that it looked as though ConVal would break into the win column, but seemed to find a way to lose.
One bad quarter plagued them in pretty much every game, yet it didn't happen Wednesday, at least not to the extent that the players and fans had become almost accustomed to.
After a 2-2 tie, ConVal led the entire way, fending off some runs by the Vikings that cut the lead down to as little as five on three occasions in the fourth quarter.
ConVal now stands at 1-3 on the season, while the loss drops Mascenic to 2-3.
