All Good Things...
...Must come to an end.
The Mascenic boys soccer team's run through the Class M tournament ended Thursday night with a 5-1 loss to top ranked and undefeated Gilford in the semifinals.
The Vikings put forth a valiant effort, but the Golden Eagles proved that their undefeated record was no fluke.
As a 12th seed, no one expected the Vikings to make it that far, but getting hot at the right time helped greatly.
There is no need for anyone on that team to hang their head.
They left everything on the field at Merrimack Valley and the score doesn't truly reflect the game.
While the goal was, like every other team in the state, to win a championship, Mascenic only came a couple wins short, which is a lot more than most of the other teams can say.
