I tried to post a comment but the verification tool prevented me multiple times.

I was once actually assaulted at the prison as  a direct result of a decision not to hire essential over time. And I mean Direct result. (the inmate had planned for our staffing lapses as it turned out)---I was lucky, and the first person to come to my aide was another inmate.

Things were not so desperate then, but the downhill slide was on.

I don't get it, at all. Guess I am dumb but I don't know why it takes a preventable tragedy to move people who have the power to act---- and after so many lost/damaged lives----this is a theme...

so many examples come to mind. will have to go through them sometime.
