I'm Baaaaack!
I can't believe the last time I posted here was February.... February! Truth be told, I have tried to blog several times, but I've had some issues with TinyMCE (that's the module on this site that makes all the text areas where you type your blog entries and comments have the option to bold, italicize, make links, and spell check and such). TinyMCE, from my experience, doesn't play as nice as they say it should with Firefox, and I've had several of my entries and comments dissapear into nothingness. I figured it was worthwhile to mention, just because I have a professional interest in TinyMCE and how it behaves, from the research I've done, TinyMCE is supposed to work fine with Firefox, but I've seen issues to the contrary. Has anyone else lost any posts? If so, what browser are you using?
Since my last post, I've changed jobs. I'm working for Advomatic, another web development firm that specializes in Drupal development, I'm working as a themer, which means I'm one the the people that helps to make the website all pretty. This company has an office based out of New York City, but I still telecommute. I have a trip to NYC planned around DrupalCampNYC3, and I'm definitely looking forward to get together with my coworkers!
I've also joined the team to help plan BarCampManchester, there is a tentative date set of July 21st for the event, so mark your calendars! For those unfamiliar with BarCamp, they are free un-conferences for people to get together and talk about technology. Even if you consider yourself a tech novice, they're a great opportunity to learn more about just about any tech related subject you can think of.... Got questions about blogging? Internet browsers? Linux? Virus Protection? Come and bring your questions! The event is also looking for sponsors so we can feed everyone lunch, if anyone knows of any companies that might be interested, let me know and I can send along a sponsor info kit as soon as I get them in. BarCamp is a great opportunity to learn and network with people, and it's also a lot of fun!
That pretty much wraps up my life as of late... and by some miracle, I've managed to make a post without TinyMCE eating it! Hooray!
I was trying to do that for
I was trying to do that for awhile, Clay, but disable rich-text has some issues respecting line breaks. I believe it's fine if you write your post and hit submit, but if you want to use preview, or have to go back and edit for some reason, TinyMCE re-enables and you lose your line breaks. That's when I've noticed the issue of random deletion on most sites (blogsNH being no different from any other I've done development for). I'm not sure if it's an across the board Firefox issue, or if it's something that just happens in Linux and Mac versions (which is what I run).

Welcome back, Nicole. I use Firefox exclusively and have not had problems. On the other hand, I mainly disable the rich-text input.
