UP(S) and moving

When Dale Jarrett made his debut in the Winston Cup Series, David Ragan was still 20 months from being born. But, next year, it will be Ragan who take's Jarrett's role as the spokesman for one of the sport's biggest sponsors.

Beginning in 2009, Ragan's No. 6 Ford will be sponsored by UPS, as was announced this morning at NHIS. In an age when corporate backing can be tough to come by, and even big companies are weighing their commitments to NASCAR, Ragan's Roush Fenway race team successfully secured the sponsorship in a competition involving multiple teams, and Jack Roush said he's expecting the partnership to be long and prosperous.

"It was a great coup for us to put this program together," Roush said. "UPS is a great company. It's a major brand, and to have them part of the Roush partnership is really a great thing for us."
