Independence Day
I’m very thankful, on the 4th of July for living in a country where I am free to write what I choose without fear of recrimination. There are many places in the world that do not allow citizens to speak their mind in public forums. We’re fortunate to be in America where we are free to express ourselves.
It’s easy to take this for granted. It’s something we were born with and we’ve had it all of our lives. We expect it. However, if we talk to some others from other parts of the world, then we can see that our freedom of speech is an incredibly valuable possession, never to be taken for granted.
I will continue to support our armed services that help protect this freedom of ours. The sacrifice is great, and our armed services are great men and women who ‘get it’ and know that our freedoms are worth fighting for. We all, regardless of our political stance, owe a debt of gratitude to our armed forces, from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror.
Let’s enjoy our freedom as we celebrate the 4th and every day beyond. Let’s continue to write our blogs, take out stands on issues of the day, and never, ever forget the true blessing we have to be able to do all of this.
