On the subject of Twitter ...

I should have mentioned that I recently wrote a story for the Monitor's Friday page about Twitter. You can read it, too.

Twitter allows the Monitor to do what newspapers have always done, but on a different schedule and more directly. It also allows for direct interaction with readers. Blogs, social networking sites and services like Twitter aren't competitors to news, at least the way I see it. They're new channels, allowing us to reach more folks.
