Yeah, that....
Nicole's blog just made me realize that I haven't written anything lately, either. Oops.
School is pretty much the main focus of everything for me right now, and the activities that it entails. I am in the process of switching my program, from an English concentration to Liberal Arts. I'm tired of Literature, and I decided a year or so ago that I didn't want to teach it any longer.
I've started my core classes for Business Administration in preparation for transferring. I am not sure where I will end up in the Fall, we'll have to see what happens this semester I guess.
This semester seems to have turned things around for me. I'm actually feeling motivated for school, for the most part, and I'm thoroughly enjoying my business classes. I guess we could say that I've found my place? I don't know.
My fiancé and I have also recently gotten more involved in our church, which has been fun. I'm glad he's enjoying going there, and I'm glad that he wants to get involved because sometimes I don't like stepping up like that on my own.
Wedding planning is going slowly... our chosen date is June 7th, 2008, so we do have a little more time than most (we actually set the date a few days after he proposed), but as we are both in school, I want to do as much planning ahead of time as I can. Most of it is up to me, as well, because his words were "as long as I have you, our friends, and good food, I don't care how or where it happens". So we'll see how that goes as things get planned! (I'll be waiting for the "wait, why aren't we doing this? WHAT color vest will I be wearing?!?! WHY are we eating THAT?!"... actually, that last one will probably come from me before him!)
I also found out that one of my best friends from high school will be getting married this August, and I am going to be one of her bridesmaids, so there is all that to contend with as well. She had great luck finding her dress, she was lucky enough that the first one she tried on was definitely THE DRESS - fit her perfectly, looked amazing.... I'm excited for her. I'm finally going to be a bridesmaid, less than a year before my own wedding! That's kind of a funny thought, when I really think about it....
Anyway, so I just took a week off from work because I was stressed out and needed a break, and I don't really want to return tomorrow.... I have actually been job-hunting for something else, where I can pick up some hours and have something to go to when I actually do leave my current job. My boss is great though, and he knows I am hunting, so I have no qualms writing this at this moment.
I'm also preparing for a trip to Pass Christian, Mississippi, to assist AmeriCorps St. Louis with rebuilding houses. The Alternative Spring Break Club here at school, of which I am a member, is going from March 10th through March 16th, during our Spring Break (hence the club name...). I'm excited for this opportunity, especially since some church members just spoke about their trip to Biloxi. We will be getting certified in drywall, as well as doing some flooring work before we leave, so that we can do as much as possible while we are down there.... As a matter of fact, we're doing the drywall certifications tomorrow!
I guess that's all the rambling thoughts for now.... I should return at some point soon... I know there are other things in mind that I wanted to blog about, however this is long enough (and they have slipped away at the moment).
