Missing Cat: Please Help Find this Little Guy!!!!

Some people that live in my apartment complex are missing their cat. He is an indoor cat named Tweety and is very very sweet mannered. He busted out of their place through their screen and is lost now.

Governor Lynch: Make New Hampshire the 2nd state to ban trans-fats

|

Governor Lynch has always been someone that firmly believes in the health of the citizens of New Hampshire. Afterall his wife works at the cholesterol treatment center at Concord Hospital.

The hospital recently reviewed their cafeteria menu, and said good bye to unhealthy choices. For many of the items on the menu you can get the nutrition information. In turn, this helps people make better choices, as well as bring awareness to what they are putting in their mouthes.

Casino in New Hampshire?

|

Should New Hampshire have casinos?

I've been to Foxwoods all of one time, and Mohegan Sun once as well. I'm far from a gambler. I realize people are concerned about crime, and giving an outlet to gamblers. But do they realize you can gamble just as much in New Hampshire as it is?

Fairpoint just another step back in the tech world for New Hampshire

|

I remember back when fiber optics were something that only businesses could afford. The first time I heard it would be available to residents in this country I was floored: here was something that could really take off. The sky was the limit for what companies could offer consumers as far as technology: downloading entire episodes of TV shows, downloading movies, an entire discography of your favorite band. Anything.

Governor Lynch should consider 4-day work week

|

Governor John Lynch should strongly consider a 4-day work week for State employees.

We live in a time where rising gas and food prices are at the forefront of all our minds, and yet the cost of living increases State employees see each year will never offset these concerns.

The State employees of Utah are doing this right now.

The city of Birmingham Alabama is as well.

Many local towns and cities already operate on a 4-day work week. Not only would it help out State employees in the pocket, but it would help the environment with fewer cars on the road, but it will help the local economy as well. If fewer people are driving to work on a Friday, maybe they are hitting a State beach instead. Or going camping. Or taking a day trip. Either way, the money will go back into the economy and not necessarily directly into the pockets of the big oil companies.

A 4-day work week will make sense for many non-essential State employees. At the same time there will be agencies that can't do this, and maybe those agencies can look into a flex-time scenario.

I worked for the State of New Hampshire for almost 7 years and am well aware that this isn't just a cookie cutter scenario. It will work in some areas, but not in others. But working toward something like this might benefit everyone.

Farmer's Markets?

|

When I used to live in Derry I'd hit up the Farmer's Market off of Elm Street in Manchester once a week. I am sure there are some great ones in the Concord area, but I haven't found any.

Friend for life

|

A lot of people want the perfect dog or cat, will spend hundreds of dollars (if not a thousand plus) on getting the breed they want, and while they may do their due diligence in researching what type of breed works for them they don't do the same when it comes to researching where they are getting their new pet.

Dead Horse? Gas prices out of control

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

Every day,we see higher and higher gas prices. Less than 10 years ago I was in high school and a gallon of gas cost only 97 cents. It's almost 4 times that now, and who knows when it will slow down.

Just walk

|

Gas prices are through the roof, the great weather is here finally. Sadly its the perfect combination of sorts.

My fiancee and I find ourselves walking not only around downtown Concord, but there and back from our home. It's only a couple miles each way, and exercise is never a bad thing. We pick out one place we want to go to specifically, we walk to it and enjoy the weather, and journey back home.

"Frostheaves"

|

I titled this post "frostheaves" because these giant waves in the concrete we drive over the winter need to be renamed. If you drive any kind of moderately low car you risk bottoming out even when doing 5 mph, and heaven forbid if you swerve to miss one and land in a crater looks like it belongs on the moon better than on pavement.
